Lauren Klatzker

FJUHSD Trustee and Board President

I have worked for over 18 years as an educator. During those years I have been a special education teacher, school counselor and am currently the Coordinator over special education supporting the teachers and programs in a local district. I'm also a parent raising three extraordinary boys -- age 19, 17 and 12 -- in this community. I currently serve on the FJUHSD Board as Board President, and I have an in-depth understanding of how FJUHSD operates, how money is allocated, and how our schools need to grow and change to meet the demands of modern life and modern learners -- and most importantly, I'm ready to continue to put my background and experience to work for our kids and our community.

My Family

FUHS Senior, SHHS Graduate, Ladera Vista JH 7th gr.

I moved to Fullerton after graduating from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Special Education to pursue a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and a credential in School Counseling from CSUF. It was there where I met my husband. After earning my Education Specialist credential at CSULB in order to teach students with special needs, we returned to Fullerton to raise our children. Our boys have attended elementary school here as well as junior high. I have a senior at Fullerton High School and my oldest graduated in 2021 from Sunny Hills High School. I feel blessed and proud that my children have had the opportunity to go to FJUHSD schools which have prepared my children for the future. My oldest is entering his second year of university and my middle son has had an amazing experience at Fullerton HS preparing him for his journey after high school. Through the relationships we’ve built and our children growing up here -- including their school activities, performances, service projects, boy scouts, karate, countless seasons of baseball, basketball, soccer, performances, school -- we have rooted our lives here in Fullerton and are active members of the community.

Most importantly, I'm a mother and community member who has the experience and dedication to continue making certain our school district is meeting the needs of our students and giving them every opportunity to succeed, and thrive.
